Doom trailer blows donkey balls
IGN has uploaded the
trailer for the upcoming big-screen adaptation of the infamous computer game
Doom. Whatever (slim) hopes I had of this actually being a half-decent video game to movie adaptation have just evaporated. This is just yet more of the usual garbage involving sweaty musclebound commandos running around in the dark and getting chewed apart by bad CGI monsters - all a little too homoerotic for my tastes, but that's just me. A movie that is a clone of a game is bad enough, but a movie that is a clone of a game that is a clone of a movie must be ten times worse.

Have you read the news about this on AICN? They agree the trailer is rather shite, but they wrote about the ComicCon panel DOOM had...apparently it's a lot better than the trailer makes it out to be. There's even a sequence shot entirely in the first-person, just like DOOM the game, which is supposedly the highlight of the film.
