Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season 1, Episode 8: I Robot, You Jane
Written by Ashley Gable & Thomas A. Swyden; Directed by Stephen PoseyI Robot, You Jane is one of those episodes that should have been filed in the "ideas that should have been aborted at birth" drawer. Okay, that was a bit harsh, but the fact remains that the concept - a demon trapped inside a computer and wreaking havoc over the Internet - is a pretty lame one, and once the demon emerges as a giant robot, things become a whole lot worse. Buffy doesn't do technology well (witness the otherwise excellent Season 4's lame "Initiative" plot), and this is no exception. There is some good stuff going on, and Willow-centric episodes are generally decent regardless of any bad ideas (unless she's wearing black contacts and flaying people alive), but this is one of the weaker ones. Oh, and did I mention that I find Jenny Calendar, who is introduced in this episode, extremely annoying?
4/10
Next time: The Puppet Show. Another "meh" episode, if I remember correctly, although I do believe the scene that plays during the end credits saves it.

Yes, Jenny is very annoying in this episode, but fortunately improves over time. Then in the second season she undergoes a pretty severe physiological change that, amongst other things, deprives her of any personality at all.
I STILL haven't polished off season two! Give me until the end of the week and I should sort it out.

Speaking of Jenny, have you got to Passion yet?

Yes. And I must say that Angel's a pretty sadistic bugger.
