Would you like to punch this man?

Dr. Uwe Boll is at it again! Not content with making some of the worst movies known to humankind, the man behind House of the Dead and Alone in the Dark has issued a personal challenge to Michael Bay, calling on him to meet him in the ring to battle it out, mano a mano, and determine once and for all who is the better director.

You may remember a previous escapade involving Uwe Boll and a boxing ring. Two years ago, he famously challenged his harshest critics to a punch-up in the ring. In something of a perverse twist of fate, Boll resoundingly thrashed all five opponents, proving that it doesn’t matter how bad a filmmaker you are, provided you can pack a mean punch. Frankly, I don’t fancy Bay’s chances if he chooses to accept the challenge.

You can view the Herr Doktor’s video message to Bay at MovieSet.

I am starting to like Boll. He is a man of no nonsense and besides that, intentionally or not, he is quite comedic with his rants.

I disagree. His films show him to be a man of every kind of nonsense.

I confess to only watching two of his movies so far, Alone in the Dark and a heavily censored German version of Seed. Neither of which I thought were truly abysmal. Postal could be the ground breaking hit we have all been waiting oh so patiently. I mean the man has got to peek sometime in his career, if only just once. I seem to be defending him but at least Boll has some personality and his rants are entertaining even though his movies might fail to impress.

Boll is hilarious!
In years to come, film historian will remember just how much of a self promoted "genius" he was!

Huh? This movie was released last year.

This just shows he is still completely missing the point. You can be the best boxer in the world but just punching your critics doesn't automatically make you a great filmmaker, though it would help to explain why Boll's films look like they are made under the control of a brain damaged person.

So now he is trying to prove he is better than Michael Bay - talk about setting the bar low! (For my money Boll is at least better than Bay in at least not having gotten massive studio funding for his craptastic efforts in hyper-advertising, but balance is restored by Boll's work having an eyeball-meltingly toxic effect and by the way he has managed to get relatively well known names to torch their careers in one final, hopefully lucrative, payoff). What is he going to do next - dig up the corpse of Bruno Mattei and have sex with it to prove that this means his films are margnially better?

The trailer for Far Cry made any post-Postal career turnaround disappear in cloud of smoke. Silly, silly man.
