Cartoons
Ah, the wonderful world of the animated cartoon!
Although the majority of the DVDs I own are in fact of live-action films, my favourite medium remains animation, and my favourite type of animation is the animated cartoon. A lot of people seem to have the strange idea that the words "animation" and "cartoon" are interchangeable. It's not true. Animation does not have to be a cartoon, just as a cartoon does not have to be animated. You can get animated films that are completely lacking in cartoony features, just as you can get cartoons that are comic strips, caricatures of George W. Bush drooling all over himself, and so on.
The purpose of this section will be to catalogue my opinions and reviews primarily of animated cartoons, although there will be some overlap into non-animated cartoons and indeed animated non-cartoons. For instance, I've linked to my reviews of The Iron Giant and Wonderful Days, but I would have a hard time considering either of these to be cartoons.
