He was thinking SEVEN SAMURAI, no doubt. :)

Well, arguably Pixar's weakest, DreamWorks actually made the superior film with ANTZ, amazingly enough. Uh, IMHO.

Screen grabs at DVDBeaver are a revelation for this movie. Completely blows away the blurry dvd (of course) and HD broadcasts.

I also prefer Antz but A Bugs Life is still entertaining, IMO.

Yeah, just taken a look at the BD and it is indeed terrific. The DVD version I owned - the UK 2-disc special edition from 2002 - was actually pretty decent, but it’s no contest when you compare it to the BD. It’s too bad Monsters, Inc. was pushed back to November. Wonder when we’ll see the rest of the Pixar catalogue.
